•MC DesmondGive a brief insight into your background and comedy

I was born in Lagos, into a family of 7, I’m a graduate of Business Administration, University of Ado Ekiti now Ekiti State University, also an MBA holder from Maranatha Business School. Comedy has always been a part of me, I’d just crack a joke or play a prank and people would laugh hilariously. I used my sense of humour to escape being punished a lot of times but comedy became real to me in my second year at the university when I started participating in shows and comedy programmes in and out of campus.

Who are your mentors?

My mentors include the late Bernie Mac, Faizon Love, Eddie Griffin, Kevin Hart, and Basorge Tariah Jnr.

What are the challenges you face as an MC?

People don’t seem to understand we comedians are human beings, we have other emotions other than being funny. They should stop taking us for granted.

Tell us about shows you have performed and the most challenging of them all

LAFF N DANCE, Joke to Fame, LAFFMATTAZ, Blood in the Pipeline, The Chronicles to mention a few but the one I’d consider most challenging is my weekly show on EKTV, U GO PITY LAFF, because I had to come up with something new and innovative for every segment. I have comedy skits that are regularly shown on TVC, ITV, MITV, ONTV and so on.
