Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i of Kaduna State has condemned the recent killings in Katsak and Ungwan Danborno villages of Jema’a and Birnin Gwari local government areas of the state.

The condemnation was contained in a statement issued by Mr Samuel Aruwan, the governor’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity in Kaduna on Thursday.

Aruwan quoted the governor as saying a comprehensive security plan was in the pipeline to tackle the spate of attacks in the state.

“A series of comprehensive measures are being designed to tackle the problem and secure sustainable peace across the state.”

Unknown gunmen had in the early hours of Wednesday killed 13 persons in Katsak and Ungwan Danborno villages of Jema’a and Birnin Gwari local government areas respectively, while 15 persons were injured and now receiving medical attention.

The special assistant said the governor was sad when he received the news of the killings and restated his determination to work with security agencies and the judiciary to put an end to the unwarranted act.

“The government is working to contain the killings and other criminal acts going on in Giwa, Birnin Gwari, Kaura, Sanga, Jema’a and Zangon Kataf local government areas.

“We have briefed President Buhari on the security challenges and he is supportive of the measures being designed to address them.”

“We pray that Almighty God will grant the deceased eternal rest. Our hearts also go to the injured and the families of the deceased.”
