Governor Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa has constituted an eight-man committee to recover government property allegedly appropriated by political appointees in the last four years.
This is contained in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir on Friday in Dutse.
“The committee is to trace and recover all property belonging to the state government such as official vehicles, equipment, furniture and fittings as well as movable and immovable property,” it said.
The statement said that the committee had retired Air Cdr. Abubakar Sadik as Chairman with Alhaji Garba Auyo, a Permanent Secretary in the SSG’s office, as Secretary.
Other members of the committee include the Commissioner of Police, Director, State Services, the Auditor-General as well as representatives from Ministry of Justice, state Assembly and All Progressives Congress.
