Former head of the Nigerian civil service, Steven Oronsaye may be arraigned in court today over a N6 billion biometric pension’s enrolment scam.

Oronsaye was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFFC) on Wednesday in Abuja.

Oronsaye will be charged before an Abuja High Court along with five others for allegedly fleecing the pension’s monies in the notorious biometric enrolment scam carried out by the pension task team headed by Abudlrasheed Maina, who is still at large.

Oronsanye as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation was linked to the fraud going on under the pension’s task team and authorized siphoning of billions meant for pensioners.

Further proof of evidence of his involvement was a recent report by the auditor general of the federation titled Special Audit of the Accounts of Civil Pensions, which indicted Oronsaye of involvement in looting billions.
