Team Manager of Handsworth Football Club of Sango Otta, Ogun State, Tajudeen Olasukanmi, has boasted that his team would have beaten professional club, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos, in a friendly match played Wednesday in Lagos.

Handsworth who won Ogun State Challenge Cup in 2011 were at their best in a friendly game as Nofiu Lasisi and Stephen Adodo scored each for his team before MFM FC came back to cancel the two goals deficit and ended the encounter two goals apiece.

Shortly after the pulsating tie, Olasukanmi said his team played better and deserved to defeat their opponents.

He noted that lack of concentration and cohesion on the part of his defenders gave their opponents the opportunity to draw the game.

“It was a good match for us despite the fact that the game ended in a stalemate. We would have defeated our opponents if my players took their scoring chances before the referee blew the final whistle. We will go back home and prepare for another friendly match against tough professional clubs,” he said.

Adodo, who scored the second goal for Handsworth, commended his teammates for giving their opponents a run for their money, saying that both teams played good football throughout the encounter.

“It was a good outing for us because nobody thought that we would play a draw with MFM who are leading the table in the professional league. We shamed our critics and it showed that Handsworth are formidable and strong to face any club in the country,” he said.
