House of Representatives member, Barrister Sunday Marshall Katung, has said the Sabon-Gari bomb blast is the handiwork of devils with an evil mind.
He also described as shameful a situation where in the 21st century someone could choose the path of dishonour to inflict pains on the people by way of terror attack.
Addressing journalists at Emir of Zazzau’s palace, Zaria, Alhaji Shehu Idris on Wednesday, Katung said Nigeria as a nation must rise against these terrorists.
He also noted that Nigerians have suffered too much in the hands of Boko Haram insurgents, so leaders across Nigeria must come together and find a lasting solution to the ugly trend.
While appealing to the Federal Government to review its security strategy if the war against Boko Haram must be won, he noted that the terror attacks various states call for national prayers, unity and coordinated strategy.
He equally stressed that government at all levels must also wake up to their constitutional responsibility to protect lives of citizens.
“Nigerians did not bargain for this when they came out en mass to vote for change,” he said.
He said there should be an end to the shedding of blood under the guise of fundamentalism and maintained that what happened in Zaria was unfortunate, unwarranted and condemnable.
