The Ogun State Police Command has warned the general public particularly, the residents of Ogun against patronising illegal or unapproved parks and garages within the state.
The command gave this warning following some intelligence and concluded investigation reports of cases of rape, armed robbery and missing persons reported to the police in the state.
According to a release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the command has been able to deduce from its reports that there is a strong link between the commissioning of some of these crimes and the patronage of these unapproved parks, particularly, those individuals who are fond of getting free ride or looking for cheap ride by the road sides.
It stated that the command had recently arrested and investigated some serial rapists, who have made it known to the police that their gimmick is to pick people by the road side, rape and rob them of their belongings before dropping them off their cars on speed in most cases.
It stated that the approved parks and garages within the zones of the state are: Kuto parks in Abeokuta, Isale Oko park in Sagamu, Ibadan and Lagos parks in Ijebu and other parks in Yewa and Awori zones of the state.
