The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Tuesday said Bayelsa and Niger residents paid highest price for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known at petrol, in June.
This was contained in a “PMS Price Watch” for June, 2015 issued by NBS and made available to NAN in Abuja.
The report presents average monthly prices paid by households for PMS across the country.
According to the report, Bayelsa and Niger residents paid N155 and N138.33 per litre for petrol, respectively, as against the regulated price of N87 per litre, during the period.
It also stated that residents of Kogi and Nasarawa states paid as high as N128.33 and N126.08, respectively in the month.
It, however, reported that Zamfara recorded the price of N93 per litre for the product, the lowest across the country during the period, adding that it followed by Edo, where the product was sold at N94.45 per litre.
These states were followed by Oyo and Ogun, where motorists paid N95.08 and N96.08 per litre, respectively.
The report indicated that residents of Abuja bought petrol at N97.25 per litre during the period.
