Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has labelled the Southeasterners in Nigeria as the “sleeping political giants” of the country, charging other Nigerians to inculcate the business and proactive nature of the Igbos.
Okorocha who was a member of President Muhammadu Buhari’s entourage to the United States on a four-day visit wrote his thought on social media platform, Twitter.
“Igbos are the sleeping political giants of Nigeria and the time has come for us to take our rightful place in Nigerian politics,” the governor who is in his second term in office wrote.
He then urged Nigerians from other part of the country to emulate the Igbos and strengthen the national unity of the west African country. “If other parts of Nigeria travel and invest in different regions like Ndigbo do, our national unity will never be threatened,” Okorocha urged.
