Brig-Gen. Yahaya appointed Commander of 4 Brigade

Following a general redeployment of officers to fill gaps created by the exit of. Some senior military officers who applied for voluntary retirement from. Service, authorities of the Nigerian Army have effect a change in the Command of the 4 Brigade, with headquarters in Benin.
To this end, Brig-General Faruk Yahaya, has been appointed the 35th Commander of the Brigade with effect from 5 August, 2015.
He took over the Command from the immediate past Commander, Brig-Gen. Olajide Laleye, who has since been redeployed to the Headquarters Corps and Centre, Jaji, as Chief of Staff.
Until his appointment, Brig-Gen. Yahaya was the Principal General Staff Officer at the Ministry of Defence, Abuja.
A seasoned Infantry officer, Yahaya who rose to the rank of Brig-General in the Nigerian Army after completing all statutory courses and examinations, has participated in several operations in and outside the country and has served in various units and formations in the Nigerian Army.
Brig-Gen. Yahaya has since assumed duty at the Brigade headquarters on Wednesday, 5 August, after the formal handling and taking over procedures.
