The chairman of Edo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih, has been thoroughly condemned by the Coalition of Registered Political Party (CRPP), for opposing the move by the state government to seek loan from the World Bank for the execution of laudable and people-oriented projects in the state.

The CRPP also condemned the two PDP Senators representing Edo south and Edo central, Matthew Uroghide and Clifford Ordia respectively, for speaking against the loan, describing their action as anti-people.

It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Senate to approve the sum of N14.7 billion sought by the State for infrastructure development.

The CRPP in a statement issued on Friday in Benin and signed by Dr. Samson Isibor, argued that if the loan was approved by the World Bank, the state Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, would judiciously utilize the it to better the lots of the people of the state as it has done in the past.

“The coalition therefore appreciates and supports the Comrade Governor for seeking the loan from the World Bank to execute laudable and people- oriented projects. Since his assumption of office about seven years ago, he has executed uncountable numbers of developmental projects such as road networks in rural and urban centres, the on-going modern Central Hospital in Benin, schools among others,” the statement said.

The group therefore urged the Senate to approve the loan without further delay as it would be used to improve the lots of Edo people.
