The Nigerian Army said its troops has retaken the economic and strategic town of Gamboru Ngala, Borno State, from the Boko Haram terrorists group on Tuesday.

Colonel Sani Usman, spokesperson for the Nigerian Army who announced this in a terse, two paragraphs statement on Tuesday afternoon did not give further information on how the town was recaptured.

He however added that the troops are now busy with clearing and mopping up patrols.
