Residents of Ago Oko area in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State woke up Wednesday morning to see a corpse of an Igbo man who resides in the area lying beside a wall in the area.

The corpse was placed on a sitting position by a wall of a newly built shopping complex located along the road.

The dead man, who many in the area said was a plastic mender popularly called ‘Dike-dike’, was in his 40s.

The man was said to be living alone in a shanty-like house located at Ago Oko inside beside the residence of a popular rental man’s house in the area.

Our correspondent reliably gathered from the people around the area that the man was an Igbo man and from all indications, he was killed somewhere and brought to where he was dumped.

The area was swarmed early in the morning by residents who wondered when the corpse was dumped in the area.

A woman, who simply identified as Mama Itoku said the man could have been brought to the area by his killers just to cause problem for the residents.

She maintained that the man, though, a drunkard could not have died as a result of the excessive drink he took and that there was no sign of being hit by a vehicle.

When our correspondent contacted the state Police Command spokesman, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, about the incident, he promised to investigate the matter.

Most of the shops were shut and the owners sent their workers back home while some shop owners others were still around but kept their shops shut.

As at the time of filling this report at about 9:17am the corpse of the man was still there.
