STAR to celebrate 2Face at 40 with All-Star tribute concert

In Nigeria’s 100-mile-an-hour music industry, it is often easy to forget how long some artistes have been around.

In the last 18 years, 2Face Idibia has displayed his unique talent. From his days frolicking onstage at Star Mega Jam with Plantashun Boyz to lifting entire crowds off their feet while headlining Star Music Trek shows in Lagos and Makurdi, 2Face Idibia has come a long way. And now he is 40.

On the occasion of his 40th birthday, STAR is bringing a bunch of his buddies together for an All-Star tribute concert tagged #Fortyfied.

Packaged by Hypertek Digital and Buckwyld Media, the concert will hold on Sunday 20 September at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The concert will feature music stars including DJ Jimmy Jatt, Burna Boy, Sound Sultan, Blackface, Seyi Shay, Wande Coal, DJ Neptune, Gbenga Adeyinka and Wizkid.

Also performing are D’Banj, Patoranking, Dammy Krane, Timaya, Gloria Ibru, 9ice, DJ Spinall, Omawumi, Dr. Victor Olaiya, Vector and many others.

The concert will gie fans an opportunity to explore 2Face as an artiste and watch him perform many of his relatively known songs which many probably only heard on the Star Music App, in addition to his hefty catalogue of hit songs.

“What could be better than an evening of 2Face and the best Nigerian music artistes along with Basketmouth and some Star Radler?” statement from the organisers said.

The concert will be hosted by comedian Basketmouth.

2Face is a multi-award winning artiste. He has received one MTV Europe Music Award, one World Music Award, five Headies Awards (Hip-hop award), four Channel O Music Video Awards and one BET award for his musical work, four MTV Africa Music Awards, one MOBO award, one KORA award, and numerous additional nominations.
