Adebule greets Lagosians on Sallah

Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Adebule, has felicitated with Muslims in Lagos and Nigeria on the occasion of the Eid-il-Kabir celebration, noting that the Sallah festival calls for thanksgiving and merriment in appreciation of Allah’s mercies over the state and its residents.

Speaking at the Eid praying ground at Dodan Barracks, the deputy governor thanked the people of Lagos State for allowing peace to reign in the state and country, as Muslims in the country join their counterparts all over the world to celebrate the annual Sallah festival.

The Deputy Governor, while praising Lagosians for living together in peace and harmony, admonished them to continue to respect the laws of the state, especially the traffic laws, noting that it is when there is compliance with relevant laws that government can remain focused on providing the desired good governance and infrastructural development of the state.

She equally used the occasion of the Sallah celebration to commiserate with the families of Nigerian pilgrims who died in Mecca, Saudi Arabia at the on-going Holy Pilgrimage.

She prayed for the repose of the soul of the dead and Allah’s comfort for the bereaved families.

The Eid prayers was led by the Chief Imam of Lagos State, His Eminence, Garba Akinola and was attended by former governors of the state, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Babatunde Raji Fashola, the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mubashiru Obasa as well as other top government functionaries, eminent Lagosians and religious leaders.
