Coalition of APC Support Groups (Southwest Zone) will soon unfold strategies aimed at reclaiming Ondo State from the incumbent government under the grasp of People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
With Governor Olusegun Mimiko completing his second term in office next year, the Coalition, which comprises different groups that worked for the success of All Progressive Congress (APC) during the last general election, will unveil plans for “Operation Rescue Ondo State” next month in Akure, the state capital.
National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of the Coalition of APC Support Groups, Hon. Doyin Johnson said in Lagos that Governor Mimiko’s bad governance will not be allowed to continue in Ondo State under any guise after he might have left office.
“Despite the monthly allocation from the federation account, there is nothing to show that government is working in Ondo State. We want to remind Mimiko that in a year to come his reign as the governor will end and APC will take over government in Ondo State. He would be made to give account of his government. Corruption and bad administration are the hallmark of his administration,” Johnson said.
According to him, the Coalition will work to ensure that come next year a government of the progressives is put in place by the good people of Ondo through their votes to ensure economy and political integration in the state.
The National Youth Leader of the Coalition, Comrade Majeed Yahaya added that the Coalition is not only planning for Ondo State alone, but also Kogi and Bayelsa States. Acording to Comrade Yahaya, the Coalition will soon mobilise youths to deliver the people of Kogi State people from the ‘epilepsy’ government of Wada Idris.
He noted that the 12 years of PDP government in Kogi State is a disaster, adding that the nightmare of the people of Kogi should be put to an end by voting for Audu/Faleke ticket in November’s governorship election.
“Our plan is also to storm Kogi for APC as the party is ready to take the state to the Promise land. We are planning a similar thing for Bayelsa State before the election,” Comrade Yahaya said.
The Chief Convener of the “Operation Rescue Ondo State” who is also the Deputy National Chairman of the Coalition of APC Support Group, Barrister Kunle Ehinlawo is also optimistic that the ruling party can win in Ondo, Kogi and Bayelsa.
The Coalition of APC Support Groups encompasses all independent groups that worked for the success of APC in the last general elections. It comprises about 185 groups across the country.
The Central Working Committee of the APC headed by the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Oyegun, represented by Chief Segun Oni, APC Deputy National Chairman (South), inaugurated the Steering Committee of the Coalition on 27 May, 2015.
Others executives of the coalition are National Treasurer, Ambassador Akinsola Kehinde and National Youth Leader, Comrade Yahaya Majeed.
