As Nigeria celebrates her 55th Independence anniversary, the member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Epe Constituency 2, Segun Olulade, has said there is cause for the citizens to celebrate, noting that there is a brighter future ahead.

Olulade in his message to Nigerians, noted that the country had gone through bad governance, especially in the hands of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which ruled her for 16 years.

He further explained that since the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari took over in May, Nigerians have been witness positive changes and dividends of democracy.

“With the All Progressives Congress (APC) now in government, Nigerians are testifying to the fact that things are working again in the country.

“The citizens are beginning to have confidence in the government and everyone can confidently say that democracy is at work.

“If we look back and recall how and where we were when we had the last Independence celebration, most Nigerians would agree that virtually all the sectors of our economy were not working.

“Also, there were predictions everywhere that by this year, Nigeria will be no more.

“It is certain that with President Muhammadu Buhari, there is a light at the end of the tunnel; it is sure that there is brighter future ahead of us all,” Olulade said.

While calling on Nigerians to cooperate with the administration of President Buhari, he also urged them to continue praying for the government, adding that “no government can succeed without the prayers and cooperation of the citizenry.

“With our prayers and cooperation, all the challenges that are confronting this nation will be surmounted and by this time next year when we will be celebrating our 56th Independence anniversary, we will have reasons to have a bigger celebration.”
