Jide Kosoko, Halima Abubakar amongst other Nollywood greats will be headlining a new movie entitled Outed.

According to the producer of the movie, Nwachukwu Emioma, “Outed is an ultra modern story that discusses incest, rape and demisexuality which a lot of Nigerians are unaware of. Demisexuality is a sexual orientation in which someone feels sexual attraction only to people with whom they have emotional bond.

“This movie is an awareness crusade against rape, incest and demisexuality, which also educates the girl child on their values, right and encourages openness for people facing rape cases to be able to speak up regardless of discrimination and stigmatization which is a major barrier.”

Emiona said the movie is a sensitive, issue-based flick that focuses on Sweetheart, a father who against all odds struggles to raise his daughter without distractions from friends, women or even work, in the African pride of being a true father.

He meritoriously raises a girl child from infancy to adolescence though in the process, develops a strong and irresistable bond with his daughter that he starts to take advantage of her from age 13.

Sweetheart played by Jide Kosoko, a puritan and an overbearing father, stops at nothing to be endeared to his biological daughter, Baby, played by Halima Abubakar.

Sweetheart inconsolably chases away every promising suitor coming for his daughter not to mention killing a few because he is possessive and jealous.

Dooms day finally comes as Baby falls in love with a hardnut, Bob, played by Daniel Lloyd.

Speaking about the movie, Emioma said: “For me, I am using this medium to mirror in and out of the society, to talk about societal issues that a lot of people are afraid to talk about. I am of the school of thought that creating a habitable environment for all also demands a responsive involvement of all.

“I therefore say, let us all join the race for nation building, let us kick against rape, discrimination and stigmatization.”

Other actors in the movie are Nikki Ufondu, Chuks Ayuba and Nwachukwu Emioma and directed by Biggie Saheed Apanpa.
