Joseph Yobo : back for Super Eagles

Former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo has charged the Nigerian senior national team to go for early goals when they confront Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in an international friendly game Sunday night.

Victory over Cameroon, according to Yobo, will make Nigerians forget Thursday’s worst defeat by the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Super Eagles will be out to redeem themselves after being humbled 2-0 by DR Congo on Thursday night.

Yobo, who led the Eagles to winning ways in 2013 Africa Cup of Nations said, the team must beat Cameroon to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians.

“The Eagles must get back to winning ways, and I am sure on Sunday we shall beat Cameroon. I will advice that Nigerians should be patient with the team because this is a brand new Super Eagles, we should forget about the past. They really tried against Congo, but against the Lions, they need to put more effort to score goals,” Yobo said.

The Indomitable Lions defeated Belgian Jupiler Liga side KV Oostende 3-1 on Thursday night in a friendly game almost the same time Nigeria were pummelled by the Congolese.
