The Executive Director of Grande Oakbridge Montessori School, Lekki, Eti-Osa LG Area of Lagos State, Mrs. Hannah Royeke Obalade, has called on the Federal and state governments as well as financial institutions to assist genuine private school operators in the country financially to enable them raise sound minded pupils for global impact.
She made the call during activities to mark the school’s 10th anniversary on Saturday, 17 October, 2015.
She said private school owners operate under a lot of financial constraints and needed financial support from the government and financial institutions to provide adequate facilities for conducive atmosphere for pupils’ learning.
While giving a brief history of the school, Obalade also said Grande Oakbridge School was inaugurated on 12 September, 2005 with a vision to provide a platform where children would imbibe a culture of academic distinction, standing tall and making a positive mark in their academic endeavours.
Obalade, a product of the University of Lagos, Akoka, and Heritage Montessori Centre Jibowu, Lagos, said Grande Oakbridge School is a Christian but non discriminatory school with a team of seasoned, highly qualified and dedicated staff as well as excellent facilities on ground.
“Ours is a school which employs the Montessori, Nigerian and British Curricular and utilizes both audio and visual aids as learning stimulants in developing our pupils,” adding that since the founding of the school “we have churned out pupils who are making waves in institutions of higher learning.”
In her comments, Mrs. Blessing Ishomo, a parent said, “I would recommend Grande Oakbridge School to parents who love their children and want them to be useful in their life because since I enrolled my three children in the school, their lives have changed for good.”
The school made up of Crèche, Toddler, Nursery and Primary is located at Barr. Ken Uba Close, Off Ajiran Road, Agungi Bus Stop, Lekki, Lagos State, western Nigeria.
The colourful event was anchored by a veteran media consultant, Mrs. Tosin Oloye Oyewole.
The event featured drama, Benin, Yoruba, Igbo and Benue cultural dances to the delight of the parents, guardians and guests that graced the occasion.
Dignitaries in attendance included Deacon Yinka Obalade, chairman of the school, Mr. Uche Iheakama, first PTA chairman of the school and wife, Engr. Ikenna Onuoha,current PTA chairman of the school, Mr. Layi Babatunde (SAN) and a host of others.
