Tension is high in Ogun as politicians, residents and observers impatiently await the verdict of the governorship election tribunal.

Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Ogun petitioned the tribunal calling for a re-run of election nine local government areas and he also challenged the victory of Governor Ibikunle Amosun of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to PM News correspondent, the tight security in Abeokuta has forced most schools Isabo, Kuto, Nawair ud Deen. Similarly hotels and businesses shut down their activities.

Political parties were given 15 tags each while respondents got five tags each.

It would be recalled that efforts by Amosun and APC to stop the application of Isiaka was turned down by the State Election Petition Tribunal in July.

The application seeking an order of the court to have unfeathered access to materials used in the last governorship election in the state was consequently granted as prayed.

Chairman of the three man panel, Justice Henry Olusiyi while delivering his ruling on Thursday said the application has considerable merit, adding that, “it succeeds and hereby granted”.

Olusiyi also held that Dr. Olumide Ayeni, counsel to the governor, Ibikunle Amosun, failed to show to the court how granting the application would be prejudice.
