The police ihave paraded 42 suspects for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities in Lagos State, western Nigeria.

Among those paraded are suspected cultists arrested in various parts of the state, military impersonators, armed robbers and street urchins.

They were paraded by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni at the State Police Command at Ikeja, Lagos.

Owoseni said the police have been making efforts to get rid of criminals by embarking on different strategies.

He said the efforts paid off as many suspected criminals have been arrested and charged to various courts in the state.

Owoseni said it was through the same efforts of the police that made the arrest of the suspects possible.

He said that on 15 October, 2015, a gang of armed robbers was arrested by the police at Agbati and Agodo area of Lagos following a tip off.

The tip off led to the arrest of one of the suspects, Lekan Jimoh who confessed and named Tayo Oyeleso as his gang member.

He said on the same month, three suspected armed robbers, Toheed Ashimiyu, Bala Mohammed and Segun Babatunde were arrested at Ashipa and Ayobo area of rhe state.

Arms were also recovered from the suspects by the men of SARS.

Owoseni revealed that in the same month, two armed robbery suspects, Sadiq Oseni popularly known as Eleba, and Rashidi Oloto, also known as Omo Kashy-Sobo, were arrested.

They were arrested in their various hideouts at Oworonsoki and Oyingbo by the police.

Apart from the arrest of suspected armed robbers, Owoseni said suspected cultists were also arrested in various parts of the state.

The suspects include Sunday Dairo, Kayode Dairo, Soji Kalejaiye, Daneil Solomon, Jamiu Mobolaji and Ubong Boniface.

Others are Saheed Mohammed, Daniel Adeyemi, Ademola Aiyelabowo, Udoh Joshua, Yosue Daniel and Abolaji Oriada.

The suspects were arrested at Iwaya, Mile 2 and Moshalashi in Sururere, Lagos.

Many other suspects were also paraded including street urchins and suspected traffic robbers by Owoseni.

He also said the police are working with the state government agecies to improve on traffic decongestion which the robbers are exploiting to rob innocent Lagosians.

He reitrated the determination of the police to reduce crime to the barest minimum and ask the public to assist and support the police to achieve the dream.
