Renowned lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Alex Iziyon has spoken about his humble beginnings and the odds he surmounted before attaining greatness.

The Senior Advocate who spoke on a TV programme monitored in Lagos on Saturday, said he was a domestic servant (houseboy) for two years and later became a bus conductor in order to raise money to train himself in school.

He said he’s the son of a peasant farmer and had to work very hard to get a head-start in life.

According to Iziyon, he also engaged in photography, wrote books and organised lessons for secondary school students while he was in the university to raise money for himself.

He advised youths to be hardworking and never to give up on themselves or resign to fate by saying that no one was ready to assist them.

He said if he could make it in life through hard work, determination and prayers, every other youth too could make it.

Iziyon reiterated that youths should use the talents God gave them to attain greatness in life, adding that everybody has a unique talent that could take him or her far in life.
