Honour: Gov Lalong to inculcate late Pwajok’s blueprint

Plateau Governor Simon Lalong of the All Progressives Congress has said that the Plateau government would inculcate the blueprint of late Senator Gyang Pwajok, his Peoples Democratic Party rival in the April 11 governorship election, in his administration.
“The late senator was a very brilliant fellow. He fought for the unity and progress of Plateau.
“It is difficult to fill the vacuum his exit has created, but we shall inculcate his blueprint into our policies so that Plateau shall not miss his dream of a great state,” he said in Du, near Jos, on Friday.
Lalong spoke at the funeral ceremony of Pwajok, who died in India on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015.
“I have collected the speeches and write-ups of the late senator and shall give his ideas a prime place in my administration.
“While we were campaigning, we used to tell each other that whoever loses, will work with the winner toward a greater Plateau,” he said.

The governor particularly lauded Pwajok’s commitment to the Plateau peace process, noting that he singlehandedly organised and sponsored peace talks that led to the peace being enjoyed among the Berom and Fulani communities.
“From what we gathered, the senator succeeded because all sides trusted him to be fair to everyone.
“I have spoken with all sides to that conflict and they have testified to the fact that he was out to solve the problem by tackling all the issues leading to the disagreements,” he said.
He said that Pwajok was a very good man and challenged Nigerians to emulate his ideals of love, humility and deep affection for everyone, irrespective of tribe and social status.
Also at the burial ceremony were former Plateau Governor Jonah Jang, many senators, top government officials and representatives of foreign organisations.
