Jumia says Black Friday generating 100 times more traction than last year
Jumia Nigeria on Wednesday revealed that Black Friday was already generating 100 times more traction than in the year 2014.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Fatoumata Ba, Managing Director, Jumia Nigeria in Lagos.
“Black Friday, the world’s biggest shopping event, has made a name for itself in Nigeria after it was first brought to the country by African online store Jumia in 2013.
“Our projections for Black Friday 2015 are surpassing anything we could have hoped for only a year ago.
“The traction we are observing on Jumia for Black Friday is unprecedented, with 100 times more traffic on the website than at a similar period a year ago,’’ it said.
According to the statement, Jumia intends on taking by storm Nigerian consumers once again, on the Nov. 27 and to outshine even Alibaba’s incredible Single Day Sales in China.
It added that Jumia had partnered very closely with more than 1000 brands and vendors who gladly accepted their invite to make Black Friday the biggest sales event of the year.
It stated that they provided them with 10,000 products guaranteed to have the best prices in Nigeria.
“One will be able to find the latest smartphones for the price of a blender,’’ it said.
It said that this year’s Black Friday will make its mark, as they are certain of it, and was going to be a turning point in the history of online retail in Nigeria.
The statement urged Nigerians to be ready as the day would be legendary.
