Rivers State House of Assembly is expected to screen and confirm 20 nominees as Commissioners and members of the Rivers State Executive Council which had only four Commissioners who were appointed in June 11 by Governor Nyesom Wike.

A statement signed by the acting clerk of the State House of Assembly, Stanford Oba, said the exercise takes place Monday at the Assembly complex on Moscow road.

The statement reminded the nominees to come along with the original copies of their credentials and tax clearance certificates and submit 33 sets of photocopies of the documents to the office of the acting clerk of the assembly.

Among the Commissioner-nominees are Professor Roseline Konya who was a former Commissioner under Governor Peter Odili’s administration, Chinyere Igwe, a lawmaker representing Port Harcourt Constituency in the House of Representatives, Walter Ibibia once Okrika Local Government Chairman and Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, in the State, Dr John Bazia, a two-time lawmaker in the Rivers House of Assembly representing Tai Constituency.

Others include Chief Ephraim Wuzi, former Chairman of Etche Local Government Council and two-time lawmaker in the Rivers Assembly, Boma Iyayi, a lawmaker in the Rivers Assembly and later Commissioner for Sports, and Rodaford Long-John, two-term Chairman of Bonny Local Government council.
