Dr Leke Pitan, a former Lagos State Commissioner for health and Education and an All Progressive Congress (APC), chieftain last night lost his mother, Mrs Solabomi Ojuolape Pitan.

She was aged 81.

Mrs Pitan was active and busy attending social and religion functions all through the weekend before succumbing to the cold hands of death late Sunday evening.

On Saturday, she was at the wedding introduction ceremony of one of her grand-daughters, Abimbola Ishola in Ogba area of Ikeja, and on Sunday was at the Harvest service/ceremony of the Celestial Church of Christ, (CCC), Victorial Island Parish, Sura-Lagos Island.

“She was active, hale and hearty all through these programmes,” a statement by Afolayan Adebiyi
Head, Dr Leke Pitan Media Office said.

“On getting home from the Church, she complained of tiredness and gave up while being attended to.
Burial arrangements are to be announced soon,” the statement added.
