Ex- OOU VC, Oyeneye dies

Former Vice Chancellor of Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU, Ago Iwoye, Prof. Yinusa Olatunji Oyeneye died yesterday and has since been buried according to the Islamic rite.

Oyeneye, who was the pioneer pro-chancellor of the first University of Education in Nigeria, Tai Solarin University of Education, TASUED, Ijagun died at the age of 68 years.

Family sources confirmed to our correspondent that the former university don had been bedridden for cancer related ailment before breathing his last on Wednesday, 2 December, 2015.

The deceased, according to the family sources, returned to the country, few months ago, after undergoing treatment.

He was said to have been on admission at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, OOUTH, Sagamu, where he finally gave up the ghost yesterday morning.

The late Prof. Oyeneye’s remains was buried yesterday evening at his Ikangba, hometown in Odogbolu local government area of the state.
