Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar on Wednesday called on Muslims to lookout for the moon of Rabi’ul Awwal.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs of the Sultanate Council, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu in Sokoto.

“Friday, Dec.11, equivalent to 29th day of Safar, 1437AH shall be the day to look for the new moon of Rabi’ul Awwal.’’

Junaidu, therefore, requested Muslims to look out for the moon on Friday and report its sighting to the nearest District or Village Head.
