African Basketball League for launch in Lagos Wednesday

A pan-African basketball league tagged African Basketball League will be launched in Lagos on Wednesday.
The launch will take place at the Lagos Motorboat Club, 28 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, western Nigeria, from 6-10pm.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the League, Ugo Udezue, the league will start with three teams in Lagos, one respectively in Dakar, Abidjan and Libreville.

Udezue said that the expansion plan of the African Basketball League, ABL will have a minimum of one team in 30 African countries within five years.

“One of the ABL’s core values is to drive local content by producing all ABL accessories and merchandise locally thereby generating economic growth, employment and developing the African youth both in character and potentials,” Udezue said in a press release.
