Sunday “Capo” Olalekan and Stanley “Edo Boy” Eribo, who take on each other for the national welterweight title at the GOtv Boxing Night on Saturday, have promised fans a cracker of a fight at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Lagos.

Speaking at his training camp in Lagos on Wednesday, Capo, a fearsome puncher, said his opponent will regret taking on him for the title. “I am focused on the fight. I will send Edo Boy back to his state with the type of punches he has never received since he started boxing. This will be his first lesson in boxing and it will be a bitter one. The title is mine,” raved Capo.

Edo Boy, however, has promised that Capo’s boast will be busted, as he will not last the distance. “Punches are important, but they are not the only thing required. I am a boxer with brain, not just brawn. I will knock him out in round four and when the fight is over, he will shave off his dreadlocks in submission,” the Edo-born boxer replied.

Their fight is one of the three title fights scheduled for the Boxing Day cracker. The biggest is the African Boxing Union featherweight title fight between Uganda’s Edward “Shaka” Kakembo and Nigeria’s Waidi “Skoro” Usman, the national and West African Boxing Union champion.
