Senator representing Kaduna Central and Senate Committee on Foreign and Local Debts, Senator Shehu Sani on Wednesday threatened to sue persons parading themselves as APC executive members in the state over an invitation to appear before a disciplinary committee.

According to Senator Sani, it is no longer news that parallel factions of All Progressives Congress have emerged in Kaduna, so there was no basis to respond to such illegal invitation and suspension threat.

In a chat with our correspondent, Senator Sani said he had no option than to ignorer what he called “Purported invitation to appear before a kangaroo committee over his involvement in allege anti-party activities .”

Briefing newsmen on the development on Wednesday, Senior legislative Assistant and Director-General of Shehu Sani Campaign Organization, Rabiu Khaleed, alleged that the so-called exco members are acting on Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s bidding to further disintegrate the party in the state.

According to him, if at all there is a new acting exco in the state or change in the party’s office address as contained in the letter head of the cooked-up invitation, Senator Sani as a party stalwart in the state should have been properly briefed.

He also noted that the state exco as currently constituted is acting on state governor’s instructions, adding that Senator Sani as a senator from the state is not aware that the APC leadership has new exco and so will not honour any kangaroo invitation.

“We have to understand that a lot of supporters are not happy. The party has been hijacked by a smaller group who now act from government house. Already, the party in the state has been in disarray and split and if care is not taken, it might turn out to be a serious problem.

“It is only when they want to act on behalf of the state governor, they will act like puppets to carry out their master’s instruction,” he said.

He further explained that before now, the senator ought to have been invited regarding either a change in leadership or address of the new office as contained in the letter-head used.

“What they termed as anti-party is his background as an activist. If the government is taking policies against the people of the state and the Senator tries to offer advice, they have forgotten that constructive criticism is the lubricant of democracy that can help people in government do well and that is what they are calling anti-party.

He maintained that APC members and supporters in Kaduna should understand that no person has supported President Muhammadu Buhari more than Shehu Sani, stressing that “those accusing Senator Sani of fighting Buhari are only talking because of their ignorance.
