Nigerian professional footballer, Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins is set to launch his fashion line to “serve millions of fans who are enthralled by the image of the master dribbler and goal scoring flip” with quality apparel.

Martins, who was recently recalled to the senior national team, the Super Eagles by Sunday Oliseh, after almost two years, scoring 15 goals in the Major League Soccer (MLS) for his American club, Seattle Sounders, has already unveiled some of the works via his Instagram account, website and stores in the United States of America two months ago.

He promised Lagosians and Nigerians that the fashion gear will soon be officially unveiled in the country.

The collection features T-shirts, sweatshirts, hud and sweater.

“This is the first time we will have a Nigerian footballer going into fashion in a civilised and professional manner. I love clothes. That is the reason I have decided to branch into creating a clothing line for at least my fans to have the opportunity to see my other side.

“It’s not about football alone. A lot is still coming from me, i am also going to set up my own foundation soon where I am going to give back to the society in Nigeria. I have one already, but I still want to do that in all the states in Nigeria this time around, it will not be a Lagos thing alone. The first is this Obagear project and I’m sure my fans will love it. Obagear is fast selling in America, hopefully we will unveil it in Lagos very soon,” said Martins.

The Obagear is yet to hit the Nigerian big fashion market, but is currently available at a number of boutiques and stores in the United States.
