President Muhammadu Buhari said there is treasonable felony case against Radio Biafra boss, Nnamdi Kanu, who is also spearheading the agitation for the creation of a separate state under the banner of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Buhari stated this during a presidential media chat on Wednesday while explaining why Kanu and others facing trial for various alleged offences against the state cannot be granted bail.

“Technically, you can see the kind of atrocities those people committed against the government. The former President just called the CBN governor to give him N40 billion. If they jump bail, it will be a problem for this country. And the one you are calling Kanu, do you know he brought equipment into this country?

“He has two passports, but he didn’t come into this country with any of it. There is a treasonable felony charge against him and I hope the court will listen to it.

“They (people of the southeast) say they are marginalized, but they haven’t explained the extent of the marginalization,” he said, going further to list the number of Igbo men who are occupying top positions in his government.
