A 33 year-old man, Oyebuchi Okadigbo, has been remanded in Kirikiri prison by a Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, for allegedly stealing the sum of N85 million belonging to one Alhaji Muhammed Adios.
The defendant who was arraigned on two count charges bordering on conspiracy to commit armed robbery however pleaded not guilty when the charges was read to him.
According to the lead counsel from the office of Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Mrs Mosunmola Balogun, the defendant and others at large committed the offense on the 14th November, 2014.
She added that the defendant and his accomplishes robbed the victim in his resident along Lagos Badagry express road.
The prosecution counsel added that the defendant after collecting the sum of N85miilion also went away with the victim’s Black Berry Curve5, clothes and ECOWAS international passport.
The lawyer said that the offense is contrary to Section 297 and 295 (2) (a) Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
The presiding judge, Justice Sedotan Ogunsanya, however, ordered that the defendant should be remanded in the prison and fixed March 24 for commencement of trial.
