Five former employees of Radio Port Harcourt, now Wave FM, have appeared before the National Industrial Court sitting in Yenagoa, seeking the payment of their outstanding entitlements.

Justice James Agbadu-Fishin, however, adjourned the case till 8 March for hearing.

The former employees are praying the court to compel the radio station to pay them arrears of salaries ranging from six to eight months, unpaid leave bonuses, unpaid pension allowance and compensation for the hardship they were made to go through.

Emmanuel Kalu, counsel to the defendant, South Atlantic Media, operators of Radio Port Harcourt, now Wave FM, told journalists after the cas was mentioned that he would study the claims and make necessary recommendation to his client.

Also, counsel to the claimants, Lezina Amegua, of Coronation Chambers, expressed belief that justice will prevail and the aggrieved former workers would be paid all their entitlements.
