Army, Customs boss visit Lagos CP

The Brigade Commander 9th Mechanize Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Bulama A. Biu paid a working visit to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP) Mr. Fatai Owoseni at the Lagos State Police command headquarters Ikeja on 26th January 2016 in his office in Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.

Owoseni commended Biu for the cordial relationship that has existed between the army and the police in Lagos state and appealed to the Brigade Commander to continue to work with the police to ensure a crime-free society which according to him is the essence of the collaboration between security agencies.

In his response the army boss who was accompanied by the Army Public Relations Officer, APRO, Major Gbadamosi and other senior Army officers said the visit was to bolster understanding and working relationship between the army and police.

Similarly, the border Area commander of the Nigeria Customs service, Mr. Dimka Victor David, paid a courtesy visit to Owoseni minutes after the departure of the army boss.

According to Dimka David, the visit is to fine tune the already good working relationship between the police and the customs in the area of cross border crime which he said has reduced drastically due to the collaboration with the police, adding that, his visit is to cement the relationship between both security agencies.

He urged the police to see the customs as their partner working toward the same goal.

In his remarks, Owoseni thanked the customs boss for the visit and pledged that he will sustain the good working relationship both agencies have enjoyed over the years.

Both the customs boss and the police boss agreed to form a joint patrol team along the border to checkmate activities of smugglers.
