Sack Prof Sagay now, Rivers Commissioner tells Buhari

For being very critical of the judgment of the Supreme Court judges that gave victory to Governor Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Austin Tam George has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption, Professor Itse Sagay.

Tam George said Buhari should ask Professor Itse Sagay to resign in keeping to his pledge to the rule of law and respect to the principle of separation of power.

He said the Professor of Law, Itse Sagay, lacks the moral justification to remain in office as the Head of the Presidential Advisory Committee on anti-corruption for launching an alleged campaign of calumny against the judicial arm of government.

He accused Professor Sagay of being a great supporter of former Governor Chibuike Amaechi and his administration’s alleged mismanagement of state resources.

In his own comment, a university teacher, Dr. Joab Sofiri Peterside said Professor Itse Sagay’s comment is a threat to President Buhari’s anti-corruption crusade.
