Edo PDP holds peaceful ward congresses

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo state chapter on Saturday joined other chapters of the party across the country as it held its ward congresses across the 192 Wards in the state on Saturday, 5 March.

The congress was largely peaceful as the members agreed on consensus candidates in most of the wards and‎ were concluded before 1:00 pm.

According to the chairman of PDP in Ward 8, Ikpoba Okha local government area, Scot Osagiede, elections were held only for positions in which the aspirants refused to step down.

Voting materials arrived early in Ward two, Oredo local government area, were the incumbent chairman of the Ward, Austin Nehizena, was reelected.

Nehizena said the PDP is poised to win the governorship election owing to unity among its members.
