AFCON Qualifier: Babangida predicts Egypt’s fall in Kaduna

Former Nigerian international, Tijani Babangida, has predicted the fall of Pharaohs of Egypt in the first leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match in Kaduna.

Babangida, who was personal assistant to erstwhile Chief Coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh, said that Kaduna is a good hunting ground for the Eagles.

This, he said, gave him the confidence that Nigeria beating the Egyptians in the first leg fixture, which will hold Friday, 25 March, with the second leg coming up four days later in Alexandria, Egypt.

“Teams that have been playing in Kaduna know that the place has always been a hunting ground and I believe Eagles will surely defeat Egypt.

“More importantly, Kaduna people are lovers of football and they will come out to support our team,” Babangida said.

Meanwhile, the Eagles’s coordinator, Patrick Pascal has revealed that as at Tuesday morning, 17 of the home-based players were at the Abuja camp, while the remaining players are expected today.

He said the players had two training sessions on Monday and they will have the same number of trainings Tuesday.

According to him, the spirit in camp is high with all the players ready to do their best to make the final selection for the games against the Egyptians.
