Title belts for Wrestle Force arrive from Austria

Organisers of A+A Intercontinental Wrestle Force Championship, a professional wrestling competition meant to celebrate the first anniversary of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in office this May have taken delivery of belts to be given to various winners during the event.
The Coordinator and initiator of the tournament, Prince Olanrewaju Mohammed, disclosed that 10 title belts were delivered to the organizers from the producer in Austria last weekend, adding that the arrival of the belts is a turning point in the organization of the Intercontinental Wrestle Force, which has Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo, the Organising Secretary of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos as the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC).
“We have just taken delivery of the belts to show our seriousness ahead of the competition which will be held across 15 centres from 15-30 May this year,” said Prince Mohammed, a former African wrestling champion.
According to him, the championship belts include the ones to be given to best wrestler of the competition, most entertaining wrestler, survival series, royal rumble, super heavyweight, heavyweight, junior heavyweight, lady’s champion and tag team.
“We have also received trophies for the best dressed wrestler of the tournament and for the most brutal fight. These are belts manufactured to international standard from Austria,” he said.
“For the first time in Africa, an intercontinental wrestle force festival will hold in Lagos to showcase the tourism potentials and the hospitality of the good people of one of the emerging mega cities of the world.
“We are taking the wrestling championship across different areas in the state to let the people at the grassroots be part of the action as we celebrate the good governance and service to the people of our dear Governor in his first years in office.
“The opening day action will hold in Eye, the home town of our dear governor, after which we will move the action to Alimosho, Ikorodu, Ikeja, Eti Osa, Ifako Ijaiye, Oshodi-Isolo, Badagry, Ojo, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, Yaba, Kosofe-Ketu, Surulere, while the grand finale will be staged at the Agege Stadium, the home town of our dear Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Obasa,” said Prince Mohammed.
He further disclosed that 24 wrestlers will be coming from the home front, with 11 others from African continent, while at least 35 wrestlers have signified interest from other continents of the world with most of them already sending information on their international passports to facilitate issuance of Nigerian visas in their respective countries.
“For complete two weeks, attention of the world will be shifted to Lagos to celebrate Governor Ambode,” he said.
