Senior Special Adviser to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Matters, Abike Dabiri-Erewa gave this indications in New York in her maiden Town Hall meeting with Nigerians residing ‎in the US, Canada and Australia.

The trip to the US also offered the Presidential aide opportunity to meet with Nigerian-born Deputy Chief of Police in New York, Funmilola Obe who was the first black woman to attain the post.

Issues affecting the nation discussed at the meeting include, according to a statement from Dabiri-Erewa were unemployment, depreciating value of the naira, insecurity, kidnapping and erratic power supply in the country.

Nigerians in the Diaspora were of the opinion that President Buhari’s renewed fight against corruption is a welcome development but must come with accelerated hearings of those standing trials to serve as deterrence to others.

Some Nigerians in diaspora further bared their minds on other issues bordering them.
