LSWC blames epileptic water supply on gas shortage

The Lagos State Water Corporation (LSWC) said on Tuesday that the disruption of water supply to the metropolis was due to shortage of gas supply to its facilities.

This is contained in a statement made available by Mr Oluwaferanmi Akinmuleya, the Corporation’s Controller, Public Affairs Division, in Lagos.

According to the statement, there is shortage of gas to its Independent Power Plant (IPP) at Akute Intake and other water power plants.

“The shortage of gas has adversely affected the supply of water to our facilities across the state.

“The shortage is due to gas pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta.

“The corporation is currently working relentlessly on the alternative power supply to restore power to its waterworks.

“The management appeals to the general public to bear with it as the problem will soon be over,” the statement said.

It assured that the corporation was committed to the provision of uninterrupted water supply to residents of the state.
