A high-level security meeting is currently ongoing at the office of Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo in Abuja.
Professor Osinbajo is holding brief for President Muhammad Buhari, currently on vacation in the UK.
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is currently meeting with the nation’s service chiefs and state governors from oil-producing area in the country.
Those attending the meeting are; Service Chiefs, Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan Ali, Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu and the Governors of Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Ondo, Abia and Akwa Ibom States.
The meeting may not be unconnected to recent attacks on oil facilities by the Niger Delta Avengers and other militants in the zone.
It is expected that newsmen would be briefed at the end of the meeting which is being presided over by the Vice President.
