Eid-el-Fitri: TUC urges Muslims to promote peace

Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), has called on Muslims faithful to promote peace to enhance national growth and development.

A statement jointly signed by TUC President, Bobboi Kaigama and the Secretary General of the association, Simeso Amachree, congratulated Muslims on the occasion of the celebration Eid-el-Fitri.

The statement, made available to newsemen on Monday in Lagos, appealed to Nigerians especially Muslims, to be self-disciplined and work for the progress of the country.

“Let us accommodate every Nigerian irrespective of their religious orientation because this is the only recipe for development.

“Remember the crux of the lesson in Ramadan celebration is: readiness to make sacrifices in the interest of others, willingness to fulfill promises and implementation of agreement,” the statement said.

The statement also urged Muslims to pray for peace, end to terrorism and every form of disasters including waste of national assets.

It added that peace and development were needed for Nigeria to move forward.
