As the military launched its operation Crocodile Smile in Port Harcourt against criminal elements, 142 suspects have been arrested by soldiers of the 2 Brigade Nigerian Army following a raid on Lagos and Abuja streets in the town.

The Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Captain Eli Lazarus in a statement said some of the suspects were later released after questioning while others are still being interrogated.

The statement said the 2 Brigade is conducting a show of force as part of the army’s exercise Crocodile Smile, which commenced this weekend.

Our correspondent gathered that the raids on targeted areas described as criminal hideouts on land and in the creeks would continue under the military exercise.
