Plateau United Football Club of Jos on Saturday defeated visiting FC IfeanyiUbah of Nnewi 2-0 to move to 11th on the log of the 2015/2016 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).

The victory is Plateau United’s second in a row, after defeating hosts Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) FC 1-0 in Lagos.

In this week 30 match at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos, Kabiru Umar scored in the 15th minute to put Plateau United ahead.

The Jos boys consolidated their position when Benjamin Turba doubled the lead in the 40th minute of the encounter.

Speaking with newsmen after the match, Plateau United’s Head Coach, Audu Pele, said his team was picking form at the right time.

Pele said his team, which had been in the drop zone before finding itself in the mid table presently, was now setting fourth position as its target by
the end of the season.

“We are playing well at the right time, and will not take any team for granted until we achieve our target.’’

While he commended his players for a good performance, the coach was however quick to add that they could do better.

Coach Rafeal Everton of FC IfeanyiUbah, on his part still praised his players, saying they were only unlucky to be returning home with nothing.

The defeat ended the Nnewi side’s 10-match unbeaten run.
