Armed policemen deployed by the Inspector General of Police to Rivers State this morning stopped governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who had gathered at the Rivers State Government House for an emergency meeting over the stoppage of its national convention, from leaving the premises.

The PDP on its twitter handle stated that armed security agents blocked the gate of the Rivers State Government House with an armoured vehicle and prevented the PDP governors from leaving after their emergency meeting.

The party also accused the police of using armoured vehicle to smash into Governor Nyesom Wike’s convoy.
