KDSG interdicts LGA chair, two other staff

The Kaduna State Government has sacked the Chairman, Interim Management Committee of Kaduna South Local Government, Alhaji Yahaya Shinko, with immediate effect.

This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Samuel Aruwan, the Special Assistant to Gov. Nasiru El-Rufai on Media and Publicity on Tuesday.

“The Kaduna State Government has announced the interdiction of the chairman Interim Management Committee of Kaduna South local government, Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Shinko, with immediate effect,” Aruwan said.

According to him, Shinko has been directed to hand over the affairs of the council to the Vice Chairman of the Interim Management Committee.

He added that the state government had requested the Local Government Service Commission to interdict two other members of staff of the local council.

Aruwan named the affected staff as Ya’u Nalado Makarfi, Deputy Director, Revenue, and Nalado T. Auwal, an Accountant.

No reason was given for the removal of the interim chairman.

It will be recalled that the interim chairmen for the 23 local government areas of the state were appointed on March 30.
