An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court on Friday remanded a 25-year-old man, Adebisi Mukaila, in prison custody for alleged murder.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Monday Ojiezele, said that the accused conspired with others now at large to commit the offence on Aug. 15, around 2 p.m. at Bolorunduro Village, Ile-Ife.

Ojiezele added that the accused with others at large conspired to commit murder, attempted murder, wounded and conducted himself in a likely manner to cause the breach of the peace.

He told the court that the accused killed Gbenga Ogundeji, Kazeem Oriade, also attempted to kill Kayode Adeoye, Kehinde Adegboyega and threatened to kill an Ifetedo indigene living in Bolorunduro, Ife.

The offence, he said, contravened sections 316, 249 (d), 319 (1), 320 and 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol 11, Laws of Osun.

Magistrate Risikat Olayemi did not take the plea of the accused, saying that her court lacked jurisdiction to hear the case.

Olayemi ordered the prosecutor to duplicate the case file to the office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.

She remanded the accused in Ife prison custody till Sept 21, for mention.
